Pack it right, ship it safe
Good packaging is the best protection for your parcel. Follow these simple steps so your shipment reaches safely and on time.
Four steps to a safe parcel
Pick the right box
Use a sturdy, undamaged corrugated box slightly larger than the contents. Avoid reusing boxes with old labels or weak corners.
Cushion every item
Wrap items individually with bubble wrap or foam and fill empty space so nothing moves when the box is shaken.
Seal it properly
Close all seams with strong packing tape using the H-taping method — across the centre seam and both edges.
Label clearly
Fix the shipping label on the largest flat surface. Write complete addresses with PIN code and a working phone number.
Packing tips by item type
Fragile items
Double-box glass, ceramics and decor: wrap the item, place it in a small box, then cushion that inside a bigger box. Mark the box "Fragile".
Electronics
Use the original packaging where possible. Remove batteries if allowed, and protect screens and ports with foam.
Liquids & semi-solids
Tighten caps, seal with tape, and place inside a leak-proof zip bag with absorbent material. Check restricted items first.
Documents
Use a waterproof envelope or a rigid document pouch so papers don't bend or get wet in transit.
Clothing & soft goods
Fold neatly in a poly mailer or box and seal in a plastic bag to protect against moisture.
Heavy parcels
Use double-wall boxes, distribute weight evenly and reinforce the base with extra tape.
Do
- Use a new, strong corrugated box
- Fill all empty space with cushioning
- Keep an invoice and documents with the shipment
- Remove or cover old labels and barcodes
- Note your AWB number to track the parcel
Don't
- Use paper bags, plastic bags or weak cartons
- Over-stuff or under-fill the box
- Tie parcels with rope or string
- Send cash, jewellery or prohibited items
- Pack liquids without a leak-proof seal
