FAQs — Air Cargo
Air Cargo is a transportation service that uses the air network to move eligible documents, parcels and commercial shipments between destinations across India and beyond. It is particularly suited to long distance shipments where surface transportation would take too long, offering a faster alternative backed by defined delivery timelines.
Air Cargo refers broadly to Trackon's air freight movement service for documents, parcels and commercial shipments. Air Express is a faster-transit option within that same air network, specifically designed for more time-critical shipments that need to reach their destination sooner than standard air cargo timelines allow.
Air Cargo generally suits larger or commercial-scale shipments moved through structured air freight processes, while an air courier service is typically used for smaller documents and parcels that need faster, more individualised transit. Both use air transportation but differ in shipment scale, handling approach and pricing.
Trackon's Air Cargo services are available to Businesses, SMEs, e-commerce companies, retailers, manufacturers and other customers with eligible air-shipping requirements. Whether moving individual commercial consignments or recurring Business freight, the service is designed to support varied shipment types and Business shipping volumes.Confirming the specific details at the time of booking is always recommended.
Air Cargo availability depends on the specific origin, destination, route and shipment type involved in a given booking. While Trackon's air network covers a wide range of locations, it is always best to confirm serviceability for your exact origin and destination before finalising your air cargo shipment.
Air Cargo charges typically vary based on factors such as origin, destination, shipment weight, dimensions and the specific service type selected. Because air freight pricing can differ significantly by route and shipment characteristics, it is recommended to check current rates with Trackon at the time of booking.
Eligible documents, parcels and commercial consignments can be sent through Trackon's Air Cargo service, subject to applicable shipment conditions and air transport regulations. This includes Business freight, time-sensitive inventory, customer orders and other items where faster long distance transportation is a priority. This applies across all eligible shipment types and routes.
Yes, Air Cargo generally offers significantly faster long distance transportation compared to surface movement by road. This makes it the preferred choice for shipments where transit time is critically important and where the longer timelines associated with surface courier or road freight are not acceptable.Checking applicable details before booking helps avoid any unexpected issues.
Yes, e-commerce and D2C Businesses can use Trackon's Air Cargo services for time-sensitive inventory, urgent customer orders and Business shipments requiring faster long distance movement than surface transportation can provide. It is particularly useful for high-value or perishable products needing quicker transit across distant routes. This gives senders and Businesses greater confidence in their shipping decisions.
You can book an Air Cargo shipment through Trackon's standard booking channels or by contacting the Trackon Business team directly for larger commercial consignments. Packaging appropriate to the item type and air transport handling requirements is mandatory for all Air Cargo shipments. Sturdy, well-sealed packaging that can withstand air transit conditions is recommended, and Trackon can advise on specific packaging standards for different shipment types and consignment sizes.Trackon support can provide further guidance on specific requirements if needed.
Yes, certain items are restricted or prohibited under air transport regulations and cannot be shipped through Air Cargo regardless of urgency. The Air Express option within Trackon's air cargo service provides an even faster transit tier for the most time-critical Business consignments.Discussing specific needs with Trackon at booking helps ensure the best outcome.
The terms air freight and air cargo are often used interchangeably in the logistics industry. Air freight generally refers to the transportation of goods by air, while air cargo can refer more broadly to the goods themselves being transported through the air network between origin and destination.
Yes, Trackon's Air Cargo service is designed to handle both individual consignments and larger commercial-volume shipments through structured air freight processes. Businesses with significant air freight volumes can discuss capacity, routing and commercial arrangements directly with Trackon's Business team. This makes it a practical and dependable option for regular shipping requirements.
Advance booking is generally recommended for Air Cargo shipments, particularly for larger or commercial-scale consignments where air capacity and routing need to be confirmed ahead of time. Booking early helps ensure your shipment is scheduled on the appropriate flight and receives timely handling.Verifying the applicable conditions before booking is always a good practice.
Applicable customs processes for Air Cargo depend on the shipment type, contents and destination involved. For domestic air cargo, customs is generally not a factor, but for international or export air shipments, Trackon can guide you on the documentation and clearance requirements specific to your consignment.
